Coach IRWIN

Coach Irwin has had a remarkable coaching career in volleyball. Over the span of 20 years, he has achieved significant success with a total of 373 wins as a High School head coach. His coaching experience includes 9 years at Hancock High School and 7 years at Gulfport High School. Additionally, during his 16 years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, he has secured various championships and accolades, such as 10 District Championships, 4 South State titles, and 4 appearances in the State Championship.

In 2010, Coach Irwin's Hancock team emerged victorious in the State Championship and was even ranked #1 in Mississippi by MaxPrep. Moreover, his efforts were recognized when he was honored as the Mississippi Association of Coaches Coach of the year in 2010-11. Notably, Coach Irwin has also been chosen as the MAC All-Star game coach on three separate occasions.

Looking to the future, Coach Irwin embarked on a new coaching journey by starting his first year coaching club with Surge in 2023. This opportunity allows him to work with players of varying skill levels and further develop their abilities in volleyball. Apart from coaching, Coach Irwin is also involved in a sound production company. During his personal time, he enjoys spending moments with his family, including his wife Tracy, children, and his beloved grandson Max.
